⏳I ditched ChatGPT completely

Here’s the new AI stack music pros actually need:

This week, I'm sharing why I've ditched ChatGPT for a better AI stack, and LANDR just launched tools that change everything about music production.

You say you want to write music, but nothing happens because you wait for inspiration to strike.

The shift begins when you stop chasing motivation and start acting like a songwriter.

You sit at the piano after your morning coffee. You play until something sounds interesting. You record it on your phone. Done. The next day, you do it again.

Habits stick when you prove your identity with small, repeated actions tied to what you already do.

Now, let’s cut to the chase:

✍🏼 AI MUSIC PROMOTION CORNER

I stopped using ChatGPT.

Here are 3 AI tools everyone in music should use instead.

ChatGPT no longer scores best on benchmark studies(coding, deep research etc.). It forgets instructions mid-chat. The writing never reaches Claude's level. Deep research gets things wrong. Search with citations can be messy.

The new stack is simple:

  • Claude for writing.

  • Gemini for research and images.

  • Perplexity for search.

  1. Claude Opus 4.5. writes all my content (incl. social media posts & this newsletter):

It helped me generate 1.5 million views on TikTok in 3 months.

It follows instructions. It remembers what you told it. ChatGPT drifts and forgets.

In case you wonder. I use Airtable in combination with Claude to write all my content.

  1. Gemini handles deep research:

I used it to break down Spotify's new Prompted Playlists. It processes 200-page documents without breaking.

Need album covers? Tour posters? Merch designs? Gemini creates images that work.

I created this infographic with Nano Banana yesterday.

The text is flawless. No typos. Nothing.

  1. Perplexity shows its sources:

ChatGPT does that too but sometimes invents URLs and presents lies with confidence.

Perplexity links every claim so you can verify before you post.

The cost breakdown:

  • Claude (writing): $15 per month.

  • Gemini (research and images): $19.99 (first month free)

  • Perplexity (web search): $20

ChatGPT announced ads last week. Sam Altman once called AI ads "uniquely unsettling." Now he's doing it anyway.

You're the product.

The era of one tool for everything is over.

ChatGPT's market share dropped from 87% to 68% in twelve months.

Content creator Charlie Hills shared an infographic of what LLM to choose for what task. Have a look.

Users are leaving for a reason.

🛠️ AI MUSIC PRODUCTION CORNER

AI now writes your songs and plays your instruments.

LANDR launched 2 tools that change music production.

Blueprints generates song structures based on genre, mood, and instrumentation.

Layers creates mix-ready instrument performances from your ideas.

Here is what this means for you:

If you produce music independently, you now access studio-quality sounds for a subscription fee.

No $500/day session guitarist required.

If you play sessions for a living, the "bread and butter" gigs are disappearing.

Simple basslines, rhythm guitar tracks, shaker parts, AI handles these now.

This follows a pattern.

The LinnDrum arrived in the 1980s. Musicians feared the death of drumming. Drumming survived.

But "human metronome" studio work did not.

Hip hop, techno, and synth-pop emerged instead.

We are watching the same shift happen to melody and harmony.

The sample pack industry faces collapse.

Why search Splice for hours when AI generates a unique loop in your key instantly?

LANDR pays artists 20% of net revenue through their "Fair Trade AI" program.

The math remains brutal. Split across millions of training tracks, individual payouts amount to fractions of a cent.

What should you do?

Ideas no longer have to start at an instrument. They can start anywhere now.

A voice memo. A text prompt. A melody hummed into your phone.

AI turns fragments into full arrangements.

You decide what stays and what goes.

Play when you want to. But don't wait for a session to start creating.

The musicians who win will use every tool to get ideas out of their head faster.

Your taste still runs the show.

📰 LAST WEEK’S TOP 5 AI MUSIC NEWS

Missed last week’s news? I got you. Here are the top 5 AI music news:

WRAP UP

WHAT YOU LEARNED TODAY:

  1. Identity beats motivation. Say "I am a songwriter" and stack habits onto routines you already have.

  2. ChatGPT is no longer the best option. Claude writes better. Gemini researches deeper. Perplexity cites sources.

  3. AI now plays instruments. Your value shifts from execution to curation and taste.

We’re at the end!

Remember that scene in Spaceballs? "We ain't found shit!"

The trooper delivers it deadpan while combing the desert. Blunt. Unexpected. Perfectly timed.

That's how your next creative session should feel. Show up. Do the work. Sometimes you find gold. Sometimes you find nothing. But you showed up.

Always rooting for you,

-Chris (The AI Musicpreneur)
